Q. How do I restrict access to a
portion of my web site?
A. You can restrict access to sections of your web page in many
ways. Perhaps the easiest is to use HTTP Basic Authentication. This
technique instructs the server to challenge a visitor to any
defined portion of your site, the visitor will have to provide a
username and a password before being allowed to view files in that
section. To setup this security feature you need to put a file in
the directory you wish to protect called ".htaccess". Any
files in this directory or any directory contained within it will
then be protected by the username/password challenge. See HTTP Basic Authentication for more
details.

Q. Can I customise the provided
formToXML script for webmail forms on my site?
A. Yes, we use our formToXML script for webmail forms. Click
here for details on how to use it.
Please note that we do not provide support for customers wishing
to adapt this script for their own use, at least not as part of the
normal charging structure, that is an hourly rate for special
customisation of these scripts would be charged.
Full package members have full access to their CGI-BIN and
therefore can install any scripts they desire as well as using
those provided by ourselves. We are open to suggestions for scripts
that should include or provide, together with enhancements to
existing scripts.

Q. How do I upload my web site?
A. The WkWyW.net server requires a secure connection. Use an SFTP client to connect to your web space, there is a free SFTP client available at WinSCP. Enter your user name and password, the host name to enter is wkwyw.net.
When connecting for the first time you will be asked to confirm the "fingerprint" of the machine. If you are ever asked this question again
in the future *do not connect* you may have a hacker snooping on your
connection trying to steal your passwords. If you are asked to confirm
the machines identity after the first connection please contact Support
